Welcome to the Mindless Productions website! This website serves as an outlet to the lives and creations of Eric and Gillian Mathurin. We have no goal other than to entertain and inform our friends, family, and the general public with whatever may strike our fancy—and hopefully yours. We hope you enjoy your stay!

About Eric

Greetings. My name is Eric, and I... um... really never know what to say here. I created this website to chronicle my adventures and provide information on things that I'm interested in or enjoy doing so that others may reap the benefit of my wisdom and experience. In fact, it seems I've always had some kind of forum available to the public from as early as 1988 when I started running a BBS*, and then progressing to the web around 1998. Our motto: "Mindless Productions: Boring people online for almost 20 years."

But about myself... well... I am a thirt... er... YOUNG... urban professional (there oughta be a name for that) and my lovely wife and I recently moved to Toronto from Ottawa, where we both grew up. My hobbies are blend of things that are just one-off from being something actually normal: I love travelling, but it has recently taken the shape of being by self-contained bicycle touring; I enjoy smoking, but it's pipes and cigars; I got married, but my wife is a policy wonk. You know: that kind of strange. Needless to say I don't expect this site to appeal to a broad audience, and especially not an audience of broads.

* Debuting at the dizzying speed of 1200 baud!

About Gillian

Hi, I'm Gill (sounds like 'Jill'). I was born and raised in Kanata, ON and have two degrees from Carleton University in Ottawa — an Honours BA in 'Religion and World Affairs' and a Master's degree in Political Science. While at Carleton, I was fortunate enough to have worked as a workshop facilitator for religion at the Centre for Initiatives in Education for three years, with a group of brilliant and talented people.

I am married to a wonderful and computer-savvy man named Eric and have an amazing family and group of friends. (Though I only get to see most of these friends occasionally, since I'm now a 4 hour drive from home!)

After a stint in New York at UNICEF's Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Unit, I moved to Toronto to join Eric in January 2006. I am now a Communications Officer at the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which works to ease the pain of HIV/AIDS in Africa. I feel tremendously lucky to work on issues that I care about with an amazing group of women, who inspire me daily.
